Weekend - Emergency Service Unit (VES) Volunteer

Members of the Volunteer Emergency Service Units (VES) serve the community on a voluntary basis in both operational and non-operational roles. VES Units have the legal capability to combat a broad cross-section of hazards. This means that a single VES Unit can provide emergency services in the areas of fire, flood, storms, cyclone, hazardous materials incidents, road accident resuce, cliff and cave rescue, building repair, land and air search and marine rescue. There are also support roles such as welfare, communications and administration.

Time Commitment: VES Unit members are expected to be available to attend incidents (whenever possible), attend training, carry out duties in a safe manner, Members of the Volunteer Emergency Service Units (VES) serve the community on a voluntary basis in both operational and non-operational roles.
