History: The Midland Women's Health Care Place Inc. first began back in 1994, under the name of the Women's Health Care Place and Information Centre. The name stayed until the agency became incorporated in March 1996 when the current name was adopted.

Cause: Women in our region are from extremely diverse backgrounds. We feel that although many come from socioeconomic disadvantage, they are entitled to the best service and that is what we determined to give them.

Women who come through our doors are battlers, often managing a number of complex and distressing issues, such as domestic violence, children with disabilities, and financial strain. These women are courageous and resilient and benefit from a practical, linked and pragmatic service that delivers real support so they can better manage their lives.

Services provided include:

1. General emotional counselling
2. Post Natal Depression, Anxiety and Stress counselling, therapeutic and support groups
3. Groups and courses (Check Term Program eg. Stress, confidence building, yoga, meditation, self esteem etc.)
4. PAP Smear Clinic
5. SARC (Sexual Assault Referral Centre)

 Referrals through self referral, General Practitioner, Child Health Nurse, friends and family etc.

Purpose: Midland Women's Health Care Place Inc. is a specialist health service for women in the Eastern Region of Western Australia. Our aim is to provide a diverse range of health services to women in a comfortable, caring and supportive environment.
