Profile:

Volunteer visitors required to visit the isolated elderly in hostels and nursing homes under the Department of Health and Ageing Community Visitors Scheme.

Visitors required to visit at least once per fortnight and be a good listener to help lonely people get through their day.

No formal qualifications but genuine care and concern for elderly people, good interpersonal skills, patience and reliability and an ability to work independently are essential.
