Profile: Since being formed as an Australian children’s charity in 1988, Starlight has brightened the lives of seriously ill and hospitalised children, and their families, by delivering innovative programs that restore the fun, laughter and joy that a life-threatening illness takes away. Our volunteers are our most precious assets in making the dreams of Starlight and our children a reality. People all over Australia donate their time, effort and talents to sprinkle some magic to the lives of seriously ill children and their families. As a Starlight volunteer, you''''ll be helping to make positive changes in the lives of many people - including yourself. There''''s nothing more rewarding than seeing a child''''s face light up as a wish comes true; or giving the family of a sick child a chance to laugh, smile and forget their situation. Our volunteers are also the driving force behind the Starlight Express Rooms and our many Starlight offices. They also grant Starlight Wishes, assist with fundraising events and spread the word of Starlight through talks and community events.
